What are some of the ticket scams I should know about?
  • PSSSST, buddy, is not a good way to spend your vacation dollars.

  • There are counterfeit, copy and lots of other scams out there.

  • Some of the Parks have second day free tickets, which get resold to unsuspecting tourists who get turned away at the gate since they are not the same people who purchased the original tickets. The Parks do check your I.D.

  • Beware the handling fees. Some places will offer discounts only to require a large handling fee that will take back your discount. Ask for the total ticket price including all taxes and fees. You might be better off buying them directly from the Park.  Also, many ticket distributors charge a hefty restocking fee if you return the tickets.  Avoid these places unless you are positive you won't be returning them.

  • Although they aren't a scam, many discount tickets are sold with the requirement that you attend a sales presentation. You can save money with these tickets, but make sure you are aware of the commitment necessary to get the discount. You'll want to consider if the discount is worth your time and if you have any interest in the product they are selling.

  • Check for restrictions, some tickets are only valid on certain days or during certain time periods.

  • As always, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is. Approach any special deals with caution.
